Usually, cat shovelers do not easily notice that cats are already anemia, and they may not be noticed until the cats are very severe. So what are the symptoms of cats anemia?
Some acutely hemolytic cats will have jaundice. The so-called jaundice refers to the phenomenon of yellowing of the mucosa and even the skin. Sometimes the occurrence of jaundice is a sign that the liver has primary or secondary diseases. Other symptoms that usually occur in anemia cats include: fever, small bleeding spots or bleeding spots on the skin and mucous membranes, and enlarged lymph nodes. If you find similar symptoms, it is best to take your cat to the doctor as soon as possible.
Test Methods The recovery of many anemia cats depends entirely on early detection and early treatment. You can take them to the hospital for examination in the early stage of suspected anemia. The veterinarian can immediately undergo a clinical examination to determine whether the cat is anemia. If a veterinarian would do a test called blood volume ratio, take a small amount of blood samples and centrifuge it to see the ratio of cell composition in the blood to non-cell composition, and see the ratio of red blood cells in the blood. Generally speaking, cats contain about 40% of cells and 60% of non-cellular parts.
Another test method is counting the number of reticular spheres, that is, measuring the number of young red blood cells. This technical method is to calculate how many reticular spheres are in the 100 red blood cells. If the results show that there is a high proportion of reticular spheres, it means that the bone marrow is rapidly making red blood cells. Then, compared with the blood volume ratio test results, you can find out whether the cat has symptoms of anemia and whether it is regenerated or non-regenerative.
