According to TBR Football, Morgan Gibbs White has made it clear to Nottingham Forest Club owner Evanellos Marinakis that he hopes to join Tottenham Hotspur.

Although the transfer is currently stalled due to controversy over the player's termination clause at the Central Club, Gibbs White returned to the Forest training this morning. Tottenham triggered Gibbs White's £60m termination clause, but Forests claimed it was confidential and wondered how Tottenham learned it.

Marinakis is angry that Gibbs White's termination clause is known to Tottenham, and as TBR Football reports, he will take legal action to find out the situation. TBR Football Chief Reporter Graeme Bailey confirmed that Gibbs White has clearly informed Nottingham Forest that he hopes to join Tottenham. At present, Tottenham is still confident of completing the deal, and TBR Football can confirm that the 25-year-old has informed Marinakis that he hopes to leave.

First, Marinakis wanted to know how the North London club learned about the £60 million termination terms, which he was very angry at. However, TBR Football learned that given that clause exists and that both the players and Tottenham want to activate it, there is little else to stop it. So, although the midfielder has returned to pre-season training, he has made it clear that Forests he hopes to join Tottenham. That's part of Marinakis's anger, he's displeased that big clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and even Bayern Munich aren't interested in players.

Manchester City had been interested in Gibbs White, but Guardiola's side never officially expressed interest in signing the former Wolves player. The England international reportedly is eager to play under Thomas Frank and compete in the Champions League. James Madison will be glad one of his friends will join Tottenham, but the 25-year-old may take his place on the team. Frank may want to find a more reliable No. 10 player to fill the role, as the 28-year-old has missed 24 games since joining from Leicester City in the summer of 2023. Tottenham's deputy captain missed the UEFA Cup final with a knee injury, which left Postkoglu feeling stretched to create opportunities.
