The Athletic ace reporter Ornstein reported that Manchester City has reached an agreement with Wolves on a transfer to left-back Nouri.
It is reported that the 23-year-old Nouri is Manchester City's primary target for strengthening the left-back position. The Algerian international will join with a transfer fee of just under 40 million euros (about 33 million pounds). The two sides have signed a five-year contract, and the contract includes an option to extend it for one year.
Nuri played for Wolves for five seasons and made 157 appearances. He originally joined from Ligue 1 on loan in 2020 and officially transferred the following year. His original contract with Wolves expires next summer.
Last season, Manchester City had insufficient left-back position, central defenders Gvadior and Ak had both held this position. 20-year-old youth training midfielder O'Reilly also played a guest appearance as a left-back at the end of the season. Last season, Nouri mainly served as the left-wingback in Wolves' five-back system, contributing 12 goals (including goals and assists) in various competitions in 2024-25. He has made 63 passes in the league, only 4 fewer than Eze at Crystal Palace.
