According to The Sun, Plymouth FC confirmed that a fire broke out outside their stadium on Monday. Video shows fire engines extinguishing a blaze at Home Park, Plymouth's home ground since 1903.

According to local media reports in Plymouth, the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a report of the fire at 9:10 pm, and fire engines from Camelshead and Greenbank fire stations rushed to the scene. Firefighters found the fire was limited to two portable toilets and extinguished it with fire hoses. The toilets located on the outer wall of the stadium were completely destroyed in the fire.

The fire department believes that the fire was arson, and Devon and Cornwall police have launched an investigation. Plymouth Football Club also issued a statement on social media confirming the incident and thanking members of the public for alerting emergency services.

The statement read: "We can confirm that a small fire broke out outside Hometown Park this evening. The incident is currently under control and there was no damage to the interior of the stadium. We would like to thank the public for their calls, which enabled emergency services to promptly attend to the incident."

Less than a week ago, five fire teams extinguished a blaze at St James' Park, home of Plymouth's Devon rivals, League One side Exeter City. Video showed five fire teams fighting the fierce blaze.

The fire broke out around 10pm on Wednesday night, sending thick black smoke filling the air. Meanwhile, firefighters were seen using hose reels to try to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby stands.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service stated that the fire started in an electrical box in the football stadium and spread to nearby prefabricated houses and outdoor storage areas. At the corner of the ground, the area between the visitors' stand and the Adam Stansfield Stand on the St James' Road and Weir Street side was engulfed in smoke and flames.

The report confirmed that about 60% of the area of the prefabricated house was destroyed by the fire, and other electrical facilities were also damaged by the fire. Firefighters used breathing apparatus and hose reels to prevent the fire from spreading. The fire department said the blaze was extinguished before midnight and ventilation fans were used to remove the smoke.

Exeter City Football Club said in a statement: "Exeter City Football Club can confirm that a small area of the stadium was damaged by fire last night. It is understood that the fire broke out on the corner of St James Road and Wear Street at the stadium and caused damage to the temporary building where the stadium control room is located."

"The alarm was sounded just after 10pm and more than five fire services responded to the scene and had the blaze under control within two hours. We will assess the damage today and update the situation as more information becomes available. We would like to thank the public who reported the incident and the firefighters for their quick response, who brought the fire under control and prevented further damage."
