According to CNBC reporter Kristina Partsinevelos, NVIDIA executive chief Huang Ren-hwa met with President Trump earlier today (7th). Although the content of the meeting has not been made public, the outside world's efforts may focus on export permissions and emergency stop switch mechanisms within the GPU.
NVIDIA recently responded to China's allegations that it has committed to processing AI data center GPUs built-in hardware functions that can remotely close chips, namely the Kill Switch function.
Although the Trump administration has begun to process the application for export permits for China's AI GPUs, it is not clear whether NVIDIA has been approved, and another rival AMD has not yet obtained the export permit for relevant chips. Therefore, NVIDIA is likely to be still waiting for the permission to pass and use "whether to build a backdoor mechanism" as a discussion code, and strives to enable its Chinese version of products to be approved by the government.
At the same time, US executive chief Tim Cook also expected to attend and announced the company's $60 billion investment plan in the United States. The plan will add another $100 billion to Apple's original investment base, and the company's share price has also been stimulated to rise by 6%.
Apple has recently transferred its line from China to India, which has triggered concerns from the Trump administration. Since India does not pay attention to the pressure from the United States and continues to purchase Russian oil, the market's resolution of Apple's ties with the government is expected to be resolved, resulting in a rebound in stock prices.
NVIDIA has previously announced that it will invest $50 billion in the U.S. to build the AI Data Center basic facilities, and it is expected that the company will be unlikely to announce other investment projects later today.
