Recently, there were no reticulated pythons in the reticulated python exhibition area in a scenic spot in Benxi, Liaoning, and two "reticulated cats" were sleeping, causing heated discussions. On January 29, the customer service of the scenic spot responded that the reticulated python has been hibernating recently and the two cats were stray cats that were put in by the park staff.

It is understood that the scenic spot is called Xiaoshi Yizhuang. It is a comprehensive tourist attraction integrating catering, accommodation, entertainment, leisure, play, and shopping. The zoo is only a small part of the park.

The zoo in the scenic area contains tropical animals. Before the reticulated cat "replaced" the reticulated python, there was no situation in the park where stray cats replaced other animals.

The customer service of the scenic spot stated that the appearance of stray cats will not affect the lives of other animals in the park.

The video shooter agreed with the scenic spot’s approach, believing that it provides a warm place for stray animals to spend the winter.

"We haven't seen any other stray cats in the park yet. If we see stray cats, park staff will occasionally take them home," the customer service of the scenic spot said, "but stray cats don't often appear in the scenic spot."

As for whether the transformation of the reticulated python into a "reticulated cat" will mislead tourists or even cause cognitive impairment in children, the customer service of the scenic spot said that they have not thought about this issue yet. The photographer of the video said, "It is not misleading, because there is a sign in a very eye-catching place in front of the door saying 'Animals are hibernating.'"
