Incidences of abuse of stray animals are common. On August 4, Ms. Zhang, a stray animal rescuer in Hsinchu, accidentally discovered an abused cat that had been cruelly treated in a trap cage where stray dogs were caught. The cat’s eye sockets were inserted into the cat’s head. Needles and broken bamboo chopsticks were also inserted into the anus, which made people angry and reluctant. Fortunately, the needles did not hurt the eyeballs and the bamboo chopsticks did not damage the internal organs. The cat was fine after being sent to the hospital for treatment!

On the morning of August 4, Ms. Zhang went to Zhudong to place traps in the wild, preparing to trap stray dogs for sterilization. She was about to call it a day for inspection. When I checked the cage, I found a kitten running into the cage, so I instinctively wanted to check the cat's gender, but I saw a horrifying sight: a pin was inserted into the kitten's eye, and what was even more irritating was that a broken bamboo chopstick was inserted into the anus.

Ms. Zhang said that she did not dare to delay for a moment and rushed the kitten to the animal hospital for medical examination. Fortunately, the kitten's injury was not too serious. The veterinarian He said that the 3-centimeter-long pin did not hurt the eyeball and was no longer a serious problem after being removed. Although the bamboo chopsticks that were broken and inserted into the anus were also 10 centimeters long, fortunately, they did not damage the internal organs. The affected area was only inflamed, red and swollen, and it would be cured after treatment with anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics.

The veterinarian said that although the cat's life was not in danger, there was an ulcer in the one o'clock position of the right eyeball. Due to infection with feline viral rhinotracheitis, there was thick secretion in the nasal cavity, and parasites (roundworms) were gradually discharged. Therefore, it still needs hospitalization. When the cat's physical condition recovers, it will be sterilized and then released.

Ms. Zhang said angrily that the person who committed the murder was too perverted. This method of abusing cats was simply insane. She said sadly that even if you don’t like stray animals, please don’t abuse them. Bullying them! She even said that she would check the nearby surveillance cameras again. Although she had reported the crime, there was no definite perpetrator. However, the police also felt that this behavior was too abominable and expressed their willingness to do their best to help. They would do their best to find the cat abusers who did not respect life, so that no other stray animals would be poisoned.

All deliberate animal abuse should be paid attention to, because this behavior is usually a manifestation of the psychological stress of the abuser, which implies that they may be prone to violent behavior; if the public discovers cases of animal abuse, they can report it to the animal protection authority or unit of the county (city) government.
